Wilma A. Willeke worked at Ohio Northern
Wilma A. Willeke, age 95, of Ada, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on October 9, 1929 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Earl and Imo (Crooks) Boecher. On August 24, 1952 Wilma married Wilbur D. Willeke and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2023.
Wilma retired from Ohio Northern University of Ada, where she worked as a secretary to the Athletic Director. She was an avid Polar Bear supporter and fan. Wilma was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Dola, where she served on numerous church committees and enjoyed singing in the choir. Wilma had a servant’s heart in all of her children’s life endeavors. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.
Also surviving are two sons: Mark (Jane) Willeke of Findlay and Brian (Kathi) Willeke of Lima; two daughters: Sheryl (Bryan) Portz of Strongsville and Linda Willeke of Delaware; nine grandchildren: Sarah (Andrew) Fincher, Jon (Kali) Portz, Emma (Ryan) Brauneller, Hannah Willeke, Olivia Willeke, Christopher (Courtney) Willeke, Scott (Alina Ruiz) Willeke, Stephanie (Bobby) Riebel and Bradley (Morgan Halterman) Peters; and great grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Palmer, Harper, Callan, Graham and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen Paul and a sister, Shirley Willeke.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church, 5015 County Road 115, Dola, Ohio 45835 with Rev. Steven Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 5015 County Road 115, Dola, Ohio 45835.
