Ada’s Jolliff advances to track regional final

FOSTORIA – The Ada High School track and field team had six boys compete in four events at the Div. III northwest region 10 meet on Wednesday, May 28, in Fostoria.

Ada senior speedster Logan Jolliff finished second in his 100-meter dash preliminary heat Wednesday with a time of 11.21. He advanced to the eight-man finals race Friday at 6:12 p.m., and is tied for the third-best qualifying time.

The Ada boys 4x100 relay quartet finished ninth out of 16 teams in the preliminary heats Wednesday to miss qualifying for the finals by just one spot. 

The team of Trevor McGue, Gavin Oldfield, Kayleb Hickman and Jolliff crossed the line in a time of 44.61, .22 behind eighth-place Evergreen.

The 4x200 Bulldog relay foursome of Jolliff, Oldfield, McGue and Brody Erickson came in 13th amid a field of 16 to miss regional final qualification by five spots. 

The Ada relay quartet ran a time of 1:34.61.

Bulldog sophomore Wyatt Fisher finished tied for 10th in the pole vault among the 16-man field. His best vault was 12-6. 

Senior Sam Paeth of Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic won the PV with a vault of 16-0.

A top-four regional finish qualifies to the state meet in Columbus on June 6-7.
