Anna Marie “Sue” VanHoose worked for Sodexo
Anna Marie “Sue” VanHoose, age 63, of Dola, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 1, 1961 in Kenton, Ohio to Lawrence and Betty Crowe. Sue was raised by her grandparents, Archie and Rosie Rowe of Alger. She was previously married to Bob Minix and they later divorced. On June 3, 2005 Sue married Tony VanHoose and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2024.
Sue is survived by her three children: Stacey (Jeremiah) Hensley of Alger, Stephanie (Mark) Hays of Kenton and William Minix of McGuffey; step daughter, Misty Leigh Jenkins of Roundhead; eight grandchildren: Jeremy (Katelyn) Hensley, Jacob (Cierra) Hensley, Hunter Hensley, Drayton Palmer, Fiona Hays, Stella Hays, Haylee Minix, and Isaiah Minix; two step grandchildren: Alyssa Miller and Jaycee Allen; one great granddaughter, Jasmine; two step great grandchildren: Princeton and Aria; a sister and many special aunts, uncles and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; brothers: Wayne Crowe and Robert “Bim” Crowe; and granddaughter, Braylynn Rose Minix.
Sue had previously worked for Sodexo at ONU in Ada. She was an avid Pepsi drinker, a Conway Twitty fan, dog mom to Charlie and CJ. But above all else, she loved her kids and being a Mamaw to her grandbabies. She and Tony loved to travel, especially to Tennessee, Hocking Hills and Mohican State Park.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with Rev. Bill Prater officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made in Sue’s honor to Not By Choice, Kenton, Ohio.
