Chance R. Watkins worked at PlastiPak Packaging
Chance R. Watkins, age 29, of Alger, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 31, 1996, in Lima, Ohio to Ralph Eugene and Kathy (Kindle) Watkins of Alger.
Chance is survived by his brothers: Brandon (Karen) Watkins of Dunkirk, Blake (Chayden Pitzer) Watkins of Alger, Derek Watkins of Wapakoneta and Dustin Watkins of Lima. He had a deep unwavering love for his nephews: Connor Watkins, Zachery Watkins and Logan Watkins. He is also survived by his niece, Presley Watkins, as well as his maternal grandmother, Juanita Kindle of Alger.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Kindle, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Ralph Watkins, Sr.; and paternal grandmother, Ethel Watkins.
Chance graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School in McGuffey, Ohio. He loved playing baseball and golf during his high school years and carried that passion with him throughout his life. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved cheering on his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. Chance worked most recently at PlastiPak Packaging and also at Pepsi.
Prior to his passing he had been saved and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Alger First Methodist Church, 101 East Montville Street, Alger, Ohio with Pastor Don Clinger officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger and one hour prior to the church on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, P.O. Box 41, Alger, Ohio 45812 for the benevolence of the family to assist with funeral expense.
