Five ONU athletes honored by College Sports Communicators

Ohio Northern seniors Keaghan Burden (Brunswick), Alise Callahan (Cedarburg, Wis.) and Taylor Hannam-Zatz (Reston, Va./Chantily), junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) and sophomore Isabelle Salata (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) were named to the 2025 Women's Academic All-District At-Large Team by College Sports Communicators.
Burden, Callahan, Hannam-Zatz and Salata are members of the ONU women's lacrosse team, and Alfes is a Polar Bear golfer.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 GPA and met the participation requirements of their respective sports.
In lacrosse, student/athletes must have either played in at least 90 percent of his team's competitions or started 66 percent of them. In golf, the student/athlete must have competed in at least 70 percent of the team's scoring events.
The CSC's at-large sports include beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo.
Burden set a single-season school record with 73 points on 42 goals and a team-high 31 assists this season.
She led ONU in assists in each of her four seasons and ended her career with a school records of 124 assists and 231 points. She is also second with 107 career goals in 69 games.
Burden is majoring in construction management.
Callahan started 16 of 18 games this season and finished the year with 11 goals and three assists for 14 points, along with 22 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.
In her career, she has 25 points on 22 goals and three assists, 29 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.
Callahan is majoring in nursing.
Hannam-Zatz started in all 18 games this season and had 27 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and one assist.
In 65 career games, she has 107 ground balls, 43 caused turnovers and three points on one goal and two assists.
Hannam-Zatz is majoring in civil engineering.
Salata also started in all 18 games this season, finishing with 33 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
In two years at ONU, she has 53 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
Salata is majoring in marketing.
Alfes is a three-time All-OAC honoree and led the team this season with an average of 80.5 over 21 rounds.
In three years at ONU, she has a career average of 80.2, which ranks second all-time at ONU.
Alfes is majoring in finance.
