ADA – The Ada High School boys soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Miller City in its North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener on September 2.

Ada dropped to 4-2 and 0-1 in NCOSA play after the league home defeat on a very hot and muggy night at War Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs are now 3-1 at home.

Unbeaten MC improved to 4-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the NCOSA with the clean-sheet road win.

MEDiA RELEASE__The new Freed Center for the Performing Arts season opens with two performances of The Pulse, a high-energy tap dance, body percussion and sand dance experience featuring SOLE Defined. This percussive dance company has toured nationally and internationally, with performances and engagements at The Kennedy Center, Jacob’s Pillow, The Smithsonian, and throughout Italy, Uganda, Mexico, and beyond. 

FROM ONU.EDU/NEWS__Ohio Northern University will celebrate its Homecoming & Reunion Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26, offering a variety of fun activities and events for alumni, students, and the local community.

The weekend includes opportunities for alumni to reconnect with college friends while enjoying campus tours, reunion gatherings, tailgating, and much more. Many events are open to the general public, including a parade, concerts and sporting events.

The Village of Ada Council met in regular session on September 1. The meeting was conducted by council president Jason Campbell with all council members present. Mayor Dave Retterer was not in attendance.

FROM FACEBOOK__The 40th anniversary of Ada's Harvest & Herb Festival, coordinated by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19.

The schedule of events includes:

9:00 a.m. Festival opens

10:00 a.m. Parade

12:00 p.m. Festival Queen Crowning

1:00-4:00 p.m. Live Music on Buckeye Ave.

4:00 p.m. Festival closes

Organizers note, "This is a FREE event, please don’t fall for the scammers trying to sell “tickets” for this. We can wait to see all our amazing vendors and patrons."
