ADA__The Ada High School boys soccer team lost a defensive battle 1-0 to visiting Van Buren in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener at War Memorial Stadium on Thursday night, September 4.

Ada fell to 2-2-1 overall and 0-1 in NCOSA play after the tough defeat.

VB improved to 3-3-1 and 1-0 in NCOSA action with the hard-fought win.

“A tough one-goal loss, decided on a free kick header,” lamented Ada head coach Aaron Acheson. “We created good chances early and defended well throughout.”

ADA__The Ada High School girls soccer team lost a tough 2-1 battle to visiting Van Buren in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener on Thursday, September 4 at sun-drenched War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldog girls fell to 7-1 with the defeat that ended the longest win streak in program history at seven. Ada starts out 0-1 in NCOSA play, while the Black Knight girls are 1-0.

Van Buren improved to 4-3 overall with the win.

“We had a lot of chances we didn’t convert,” said Ada head coach Doug Dewese. “We also got out of our style of play as we tried to deal with Van Buren’s possession.

FINDLAY__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost its Blanchard Valley Conference opener at Liberty-Benton in straight sets on Wednesday, September 3.

L-B knocked Ada from the unbeaten ranks with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-16 victory.

The Bulldog girls fell to 6-1 overall and 0-1 in BVC play after suffering their first defeat. 

The Eagles improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the BVC with the win.

Senior Anna Conley connected on five kills to pace the Bulldog hitters.

BLUFFTON – The Ada High School golf team lost a dual match with local rival and former league foe Bluffton at the Bluffton Golf Club on Wednesday, September 3.

The final match score was 173-208.

Ada fell to 2-2 in dual matches after the defeat. Bluffton improved to 8-7 with the win.

“We were outmatched by a much larger program,” said Ada head coach Tod Schmidt. 

Junior Brody Rister paced Ada with a nine-hole score of 48. He finished sixth in the 11-player field.

Freshman Arden Shook was just one shot and one place behind him after posting a 49.
