BLUFFTON__The Ada Gators summer swim team competed in a West Ohio Aquatic League triangular meet at Bluffton with Shawnee on Monday evening, June 30 to conclude the regular season.

The host Sardines won the boys meet. They dunked Shawnee 382-96 and beat the Ada boys 328-151. But the Gator males beat Shawnee, 243.5 to 144.5.

The Shawnee girls beat Ada 312-115.5, yet lost to Bluffton 293-211. The Sardine girls defeated the Gator females, 418-85.

The Gator boys finished their summer season with a 4-3 dual meet record. The Ada girls ended up 1-6.

Bluffton also won the combined girls/boys meets by scores of 675-307 over Shawnee and 746-236 against the Gators. Ada lost the boys/girls meet to Shawnee, 456.5 to 358.5.

Ada finished 1-6 this season in the combined meet category.

The Harriger brothers – Luke (9-10 age group), Landry (11-12) and Lincoln (13-14) – combined to win 15 individual races. Lincoln, Landry and Luke each touched first in five events. 

Ada’s Lydia Demascio took third in the girls 15-and-over bracket 50-meter freestyle. She also touched third in the 50 backstroke, and ended up fourth in the 50 butterfly.

Nilsson Van Atta took third in the boys 9-10 50 butterfly.

Ada’s Derek Dennis finished third in the boys 13-14 100 free, and came home fourth in the 50 butterfly. 

Addilynn Montgomery came in third in the 9-10 girls 50 backstroke. Alivia Montgomery finished fourth in both the girls 15-plus 50 backstroke and in the 100 free.

Gator Jacob Szippl touched third in the boys 15-and-over 50 backstroke.

Adaite Elliott Salyer took fourth in the girls 8 and under 50 freestyle. 

The Gator boys 11-12 200 free relay team took second.

The Gators compete in the annual eight-team WOAL championship meet at Wapakoneta July 11-12.
