TIFFIN – The Ada High School boys soccer team kicked off its 2025 season with a convincing 6-1 win at Tiffin Columbian on Saturday, August 16.
The Bulldogs raced to a 5-0 halftime bulge and cruised to victory.
“We really shared the ball well,” said Ada head coach Aaron Acheson. “We had five assists on six goals, and it is great to see five different players on the scoresheet.
“Our defenders were key in creating attacking opportunities, quickly transitioning the ball and setting up our midfield and forwards for better chances,” he continued.
“It’s a perfect example of how everyone contributes to the offensive play, not just the attacking players,” the coach added.
Bulldog Chase Jarrett paced the scoring spree with two goals. Carson Conley tallied a goal and passed out two assists.
Joshua Thaxton and Will Mosler each netted a goal. Thaxton also doled out one assist.
Andrew Allen cashed in a penalty kick off a Tornado handball.
Lucas Henson and Rhett Ulrey each passed out one assist.
TC scored its lone goal in the second half on a penalty kick after a Bulldog foul in the box.
Ada put 14 shots on goal compared to just four by Columbian. Bulldog keeper Jacob Rush made four saves in goal. The Tornadoes made two saves in goal.
“All in all, we had contributions across the board, and it was a great team win to kick off the season,” said Acheson.
Ada plays at New Knoxville Monday evening, and visits Bath Aug. 21.
