BELLEFONTAINE – The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team stayed unbeaten with an 8-0 blowout win at Calvary Christian on Tuesday, August 26.

Ada raced to a 7-0 halftime lead and cruised to the lopsided win.

The Bulldog girls improved to 5-0 with the non-league road victory.

The fledgling Calvary Christian program fell to 1-1 after the loss.

“We had a good night,” said fourth-year Bulldog girls head coach Doug Dewese. “Lots of goals in the first half, so we concentrated on a different formation and ball movement in the second.

”Lots of girls got a lot of playing time,” he continued. “Calvary Christian is a first-year girls program, and they had a few talented players from last year’s co-ed team that gave us issues at times.

“But we never really let go of the reins once we settled in and started scoring,” he added. “Really happy with the entire team as they all played hard and worked hard.”

Sophomore Avary Acheson tallied two goals and dished out two assists.

Senior Alex Gibson and junior Kenley Poling each riddled the Spartan defense for two goals.

Sophomore Rose Baxter and freshman Maycie Dewese each netted one goal. Sophomore Baxter also passed out one assist. Freshmen Shay Smith and Aubry Jordan dished out one helper apiece.

Ada got off 32 shots, compared to eight by CC. Keeper Emily Gibson earned her ninth clean sheet with six saves.

“It was a good springboard to come back home Thursday night against a Delphos Jefferson team with a few wins on their record,” said Dewese.
