Bulldog girls soccer shuts out Allen East

HARROD – The undefeated Ada High School girls soccer team blanked traditional foe Allen East 5-0 on Saturday morning, August 23 in Harrod.

The Bulldog girls improved to 4-0 with the non-league road victory. The Mustangs fell to 0-1-1 after the loss.

“Allen East is one of our NWC rivals that has stuck around after Ada left the league,” said fourth-year Bulldog girls head coach Doug Dewese.

“The girls get pretty fired up to play them, so it didn’t take much for us to come out firing from the start.

”Rose Baxter scored 17 seconds in, which may be the fastest goal ever scored by us,” he continued. “Chloe Hunsicker and Aliyah Kober played well. Emma Lambdin came up with a big non-keeper save on the goal line. Lynkin McDougle came off the bench with a strong showing.”

Ada senior Kenley Poling tallied a hat trick to match the one her recently-graduated sister Lexi authored against AE.

Baxter scored at the 39:43 mark on an assist by senior Alex Gibson, and the rout was on as Ada rolled to victory.

Poling then netted goals at the 24:46 mark and with 6:28 left in the first half to propel Ada to a 3-0 halftime lead.

Poling then scored again with 31:27 remaining on a rebound off a Maycie Dewese shot.

Dewese then found the back of the net on an assist from Shay Smith with 24:54 remaining to close the scoring.

Bulldog freshmen Aubry Jordan and Shay Smith assisted on the first two Poling goals.

Ada got off 16 shots to nine by AE. Keeper Emily Gibson made five saves and Lambdin added one.

“Emily Gibson was solid as ever in the net, and her clearances and distribution were on point as well,” said Dewese. “Also, Kenley getting a hat trick was fun and I told her we may have a family tradition
starting.”

The Bulldog girls visit Calvary Christian (1-0) on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Delphos Jefferson (2-1) then visits Ada for a match Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.
