Bulldog golf team win vs. Pandora-Gilboa
By Cort Reynolds
HARROD__The Ada High School golf team won a close dual match over visiting Pandora-Gilboa at the Colonial Hills Golf Course on Monday, August 25.
The Bulldog linksters defeated the Rockets, 204-210. Ada was led by junior Brody Rister, who earned match medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 39.
Ada improved to 2-1 in dual match play with the win. Winless P-G fell to 0-4 after the defeat.
“We played the back nine at Colonial, and on the difficult 17 and 18 holes we scored 35-over par,” said Ada head coach Tod Schmidt. “We actually scored exceptionally well on both par-three holes, but those last two really kept us from having a much more respectable total.”
Freshman Arden Shook tied for second individually with the best Rocket scorer by shooting a 49.
Bulldog junior Lawson Klingler carded a score of 57.
Gavin Guyton was the fourth Ada scorer as he registered a 59. Senior Slade Gossman added a round of 71.
“We now have a few days to get ready for our weekend match in Kenton against our Hardin County rivals,” Schmidt noted.
Ada plays in the Hardin County Invitational tournament Saturday, August 30 at 9 a.m. on the Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton.
