New Findlay Community Orchestra invites string players
AUG 11 MEDIA RELEASE__The Findlay Community Orchestra will begin rehearsal on September 9. Membership is open to anyone interested in playing a string instrument. Some previous experience is required, like participation on orchestra in high school/ college/church.
The orchestra will meet weekly from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Great Room at First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S Main St., Findlay.
Organizers note that this is a new volunteer organization and its first season. Jeremy Sheets is the conductor and the first concert is planned for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23 with free admission. The program will include Sinfonia in F - Vivaldi, Folk Tune and Fiddle Dance - Percy Fletcher, Waltz No. 2 - Shostakovich, Hopak -Modest Mussorgsky.
Membership costs $25 per half year and attending weekly rehearsals is required.
