Funeral services will be held on Aug. 11

Paul E. Downing, age 86, of Alger, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Vancrest of Ada. 

Paul was born on January 6, 1939 in Ada, Ohio to the late William and Virginia (Adams) Downing.  In 1969, Paul married Mildred Castle and she survives in Alger. 

Also surviving are his brother, Lee Downing; and two sisters: Sally Smith and Mary Downing. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Campbell, Jerry Downing and Robert Downing; half-sister, Barbara Downing; and half-brother, William Downing. 

Paul retired from Sheller Globe.  

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Rev. David Blevins officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.   

Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Monday, August 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.   

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
