FINDLAY__The Ada High School boys golf team dropped a closely-contested Blanchard Valley Conference triangular match at Arlington on Findlay’s Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Wednesday, September 10.
The improving Bulldogs fashioned a season-low stroke total.
Ada junior Brody Rister fired a 44 on the par-36 front nine to win match medalist honors. He tied with Arcadia’s Owen Green and Red Devil Deuce Davis.
Arcadia won the event as they totaled 189 strokes to 194 by Arlington, with Ada a close third at 199.
Gavin Guyton shot a career-best 47 for the Bulldogs. ”I am so proud of Gavin,” said Ada head coach Tod Schmidt. “His perseverance through difficult times in the early season has really paid off for him.
“In my experience, the level of improvement Gavin has shown is unprecedented,” he continued. “And to his credit, he knows he can improve further.”
Freshman Arden Shook and senior Sam Crawford each carded a round of 54 to round out the Ada scorers.
Junior Lawson Klingler posted a 57, and senior Slade Gossman added a 66.
