MEDIA RELEASE__Dr. Victoria Marshall, a 1995 Ada High School graduate, has been named the new Assistant Dean of the PhD Program at the University of South Florida College of Nursing.

Dr. Marshall, a tenured Associate Professor, joined the university in 2018. During that time, she has secured $3.5 million in extramural funding from the National Cancer Institute, Florida Department of Health, American Nurses Foundation and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

Her research focuses on technology-based interventions to support older adults with prescribed oral anticancer medications. Her research expertise in adherence to oral medications and cancer self-symptom management is nationally recognized and she recently coauthored practice guidelines for the Oncology Nursing Society to inform oncology nursing practice.

Dr. Marshall also brings past leadership experience to her new role. She has served as the Program Chair for the Oncology Nursing Society of Greater Tampa, Director of Career Development and Awards for the Southern Nursing Research Society, Chair of the USF College of Nursing PhD Curriculum Committee, Florida Nurses Association COVID-19 Pandemic Taskforce and grant reviewer for both the National Institutes of Health and American Cancer Society.

She currently resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Dr. David Marshall, also a 1995 Ada High School graduate, and her four children Ireland, Ben, Weston and Anniston.
