Registration is open for Polar Buddies mentoring program

SEPT 5 MEDIA RELEASE– Polar Buddies, an Ohio Northern University partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hardin County, is excited to announce that registration for 2025-2026 is now open.

ONU college students (“Bigs”) serve as mentors for Ada area students Kindergarden-8th grade (“Littles”) getting together twice a month for fun and meaningful activities. Polar Buddies will meet as a group after school in the school cafeteria on the first Fridays of the month. The second meeting of the month is arranged individually by the Big and parent as schedules permit.

This unique mentoring program provides children with caring role models who will inspire confidence, build friendships, and make lasting connections.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Polar Buddies this year! Combining our mentoring expertise with the longstanding tradition of Polar Buddies (previously Ada Friends) can only create great things!” said Madison Richards, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hardin County Community Engagement Specialist. “This program not only provides meaningful mentoring relationships but also creates memories that our Littles…and Bigs…will cherish for years to come.”
