Ada Police Dept. reminder on sharing the road, passing zone indicators
FROM APD FACEBOOK__Recently we have been asked some traffic-related questions and have seen an increase in some issues, so we would like to remind the public of the following:
- Electronic skateboards and scooters may be ridden on the roadway or sidewalk within the village. There are specific laws that do regulate these.
- The most common issues we observe are failure to yield to pedestrians and operation at night without the required lighting and reflectors.
- When on the roadway, these must be operated like a vehicle, meaning you must stop at all stop signs and red lights, etc.
- If there is a centerline in the roadway and the line nearest you is solid, this is a no-passing zone for your direction of travel. A double solid indicates no passing in either lane.
Stay safe.
