Bulldog girls soccer seeded 5th in super sectional
By Cort Reynolds
The Ada High School girls soccer team received a fifth seed in their rugged 12-team super sectional drawing on Sunday, October 5.
Ada (10-3-2) will host Kalida (5-8-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in their first round match. The Bulldog girls recently shut out the Wildcats 2-0 in Ada on Sept 27.
“The super sectional set-up helped us to host,” said Ada fourth-year head coach Doug Dewese. “A lot of the higher-seeded teams went to the lower part of our bracket because if they win out, they get a pretty favorable run to regionals.”
The fourth-seeded Bluffton girls soccer team (7-7-1) will host seventh-seeded local foe Allen East (2-10-1) on October 14. Bluffton defeated their backyard league rival 4-0 Sept. 16 earlier this season.
If the seeds go according to form, Ada will play at former league rival Bluffton on Monday, Oct. 20.
“We play Kalida and if we win, we will see the winner of Allen East/Bluffton on the 20th,” Dewese said. “Winner there goes to play the winner of the group B district semis, which could be Woodmore.”
Elmore Woodmore (13-1-1) was voted the top seed in the top half of the draw.
The district semifinals will be Thursday, Oct. 23 in Clyde at 6 p.m.
Miller City (10-3-2) was seeded first in the bottom half of the draw.
