Bulldog volleyball win vs. Arcadia

ARCADIA__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team defeated Blanchard Valley Conference foe Arcadia in four sets on Wednesday, October 1.
The Bulldog girls won the first two sets, narrowly dropped the third and then closed it out convincingly by taking a decisive fourth set.
Winning a close second game in overtime set the purple and gold up to capture the match as they went up 2-0.
Ada improved to 14-6 overall and 3-4 in the BVC after the 25-9, 26-24, 23-25, 25-14 victory.
Arcadia dropped to 6-9 overall and 2-7 in BVC play with the defeat.
Junior Dailah Preston led the victors by hammering 11 kills and making seven blocks.
Junior Brooklynn Andreasen also knocked down 11 kills and came up with four blocks.
Freshman Téa Griffith drilled seven kills, doled out 17 assists, hustled up eight digs and added three blocks.
Senior Anna Conley smacked seven kills and mustered three blocks.
Junior Jaylin St. Laurent passed out 17 assists, hustled her way to 19 digs and dealt a season-high eight aces.
Senior Alyssa Madison mustered up 29 digs. Junior Alivia Gibson came up with seven digs and served three aces.
The Ada junior varsity lost to Arcadia, 2-1.
The Bulldogs host tough league foe Pandora-Gilboa (13-5, 7-1 BVC) on Monday, October 6. The Rockets are tied for second place in the BVC with Liberty-Benton behind 8-0 Leipsic.
The Bulldogs are tied for fifth in the league standings at 4-4 with Arlington and Elmwood. Van Buren (14-4) is a half-game ahead of that trio of teams in fourth place in the BVC at 4-3.
Ada closes the regular season at home vs. traditional arch-rival Upper Scioto Valley (4-13) on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Bulldog girls are 3-1 at home. Ada went 8-4 on the road and was 3-1 at neutral sites.
