Three candidates running for two Liberty Twp. trustee seats
By Paula Pyzik Scott
Three candidates are running for two seats on the Liberty Township Board of Trustees. The seats commence on January 1, 2026. Current trustees Gary G. Hall and Bradley D. Hays are not running for reelection.
Trent Bass, Ben Brite and Britton Devier are running for positions on the Liberty Township board of trustees.
CANDIDATE BACKGROUNDS
Trent Bass has lived in Ada his whole life and is a 2009 Ada High School graduate. He attended Ohio Northern, when he earned a degree in civil engineering. He is an assistant engineer for Hardin County and has an extensive background in roads and bridges. Bass notes that there is a lot of traffic in the township and that some widening and paving needs to be done. Bass is married and has two children.
Ben Brite has three children and has worked for ODOT for over 14 years. He has his own construction and mowing business. Brite is also a bus driver for Riverdale Schools. Brite says working on roads is his wheelhouse and that he would focus on winter safety–helping people get around–and on fiscal responsibility.
Britton Devier was born and raised in Ada and graduated from Ada High School in 2002. He is K-12 Assistant Principal for Ada Schools. Devier’s post-secondary education includes a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. Devier is interested in maintaining the township’s rural character and keeping it a safe, strong and welcoming community.
