HARROD__The Ada High School boys basketball team lost 52-49 in overtime at backyard rival Allen East on Saturday, December 6.

The Bulldogs rallied from a 34-28 deficit to force overtime with a 16-10 fourth-period surge. The game was tied 44-44 after four periods of play.

But AE made all four of its foul shots in the extra session to regroup and pull off the win. Carson Conley knocked down a triple for Ada in the OT.

Ada fell to 2-1 overall with the tough defeat, while the Mustangs improved to 4-0 after the hard-fought win.

Bulldog senior Kayleb Hickman led the purple and gold with 15 points and three trifectas. Senior Zack Zimmerman tallied 12 points, and junior Carson Conley added 10 markers. Senior Gavin Oldfield contributed eight points.

Senior guard Brady Brooks led the Mustangs with 15 points, including three triples. Senior Deacon Jones netted 10 points.

AE sophomore Camden Smith notched nine points, and junior Keagan Jones added eight. Smith and Keagan Jones both sank a big two-point goal in the OT.

Oldfield and Zimmerman nailed two baskets apiece in the opening stanza. Ethan Hershberger and Keagan Jones each drained a trey to keep AE within 10-8 after one period.

Brooks canned five points in the second stanza, including a triple, while Deacon Jones added four markers. AE held a 22-21 edge at halftime.

The Mustangs authored a 12-7 third quarter to build a six-point lead heading to the fourth period. Deacon Jones and Brooks each splashed a trifecta in the period.

Hickman canned 10 big points on the strength of two triples to lead the Ada fourth-quarter comeback that forced extra time.

It was the second straight season Ada lost to AE in OT.

The Bulldogs sank 16 deuces and nailed four triples. Ada converted five of six free throws (83 percent).

AE connected on 10 deuces and splashed eight treys. The Mustangs sank eight of 10 foul shots (80 percent).
