Bulldog wrestler Riblet wins 126 crown at Lancer Invite

MIDDLE POINT–The Ada High School boys wrestling team competed at the annual Lancer Invitational on Saturday, December 13.
The Bulldog grapplers finished 15th out of 18 teams with 101 points.
Shawnee won the team crown with 300 points, while Van Buren was second (282.5).
Ada senior Silas Riblet won the 126 lbs. title. He recorded three pins to go 3-0 in pool play to advance to the final four. In the semifinals, he won 14-9. In the 126 championship bout, Riblet pinned Robert Tyas of Crestview in 3:14 to clinch the individual weight title.
Riblet finished 5-0 in the tournament.
Carter Dunlap took second in the 106 lbs. bracket. He went 3-0 in pool A with two pins. In the finals, he lost a 21-11 decision to Wapakoneta’s Crue Shaner to end up 3-1.
Bulldog Layne Simon finished fifth at 175 lbs. He was 3-1 with three pins in preliminary pool action. Simon then won his second-place bout in Pool A via pain.
Simon won his fifth-place match by pin to end up 5-1 in the tournament.
Kale Pedersen took sixth in the 144 lbs. division. Pedersen was 3-1 in pool play with three pins. He then won by pin at 59 seconds to take his second-place match for second in Pool D. He lost in the fifth-place match by technical fall to end up 4-2 at the tourney.
In the 157 lbs. bracket, Elijah Craig posted a 2-1 record with two pins in preliminary pool action. He then lost his second-place Pool D bout by pin to end up 2-2 on the day.
At the 215 lbs. bracket, Peyton Karsten went 2-2 with two pins to end up third in the five-man Pool C.
In the 150 lbs. bracket, Gaidge Snyder went 1-2 in pool play.
Alejandro Reyes of Shawnee was named tournament MVP. He went 6-0 with four pins to win the 150 lbs. title.
