Bulldog wrestling opens season at Cory Duals; Simon 5-0

RAWSON––The Ada High School wrestling team began its season by competing in the annual Cory-Rawson Duals event on Saturday, December 6.
Ada and event host C-R each posted 2-3 records in the round-robin tournament, where each team wrestled five dual matches.
Bulldog junior Layne Simon registered a perfect 5-0 record on the day in the 175 lbs. class with three pins to pace Ada.
Bulldogs Case Vieira (106), Carter Dunlap (113) and senior Silas Riblet (126) each posted strong records of 4-1 at the event.
Archbold won the team title behind tournament MVP Eli Farbrother. Bellevue, Ottawa-Glandorf and Delphos Jefferson also competed at the event.
The Ada matmen are back in action on Saturday, December 13 at the annual Lincolnview Invitational. The Bulldog grapplers then wrestle at Kenton with Riverdale in a county triangular meet on Dec. 17.
