Beth Renee Kretz worked for the Department of Defense School
Beth Renee Kretz, age 59, of Beavercreek, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 11, 1966, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Harold and Joyce (Thompson) Compton. On August 3, 1985, Beth married Colonel David D. Kretz (Retired), and he survives in Beavercreek.
Also surviving are her four children: Ben (Lauren) Kretz of Tipp City, Andrew Kretz of Tipp City, Whitney Schniebs of Columbus and Natalie (Dan) Colegrove of Columbus; two grandchildren: Greyson and Oakleigh; a brother, Shaun (Cindy) Compton of Belle Center; and a sister, Lori (Jim) Goldsmith of Kenton.
Beth devoted her time to serving both her local and military communities. Beth retired from the Department of Defense School, where she worked as a special education aide. Her strength was assisting special needs students. As a military spouse, she aided with the reception of over 7000 Kurdish Refugees while stationed in Guam. She was a former EMT for Roundhead and Trotwood EMS.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2025, at Roundhead United Methodist Church, 17907 State Route 117, Roundhead, Ohio 43346, with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Friday, January 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Roundhead United Methodist Church, 17907 State Route 117, Roundhead, Ohio 43346.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601.
