Two Bulldog swimmers qualify for 2026 district meet

Boys and girls results from Div. II meet, Feb. 14

LIMA – The Ada High School swim teams competed in the Div. II sectionals at the Lima YMCA on Saturday, February 14.

BOYS RESULTS
Junior Jacob Szippl touched third out of 32 swimmers in the boys 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.1 to post the top Ada showing.

Szippl also finished a strong fifth among the 61-swimmer field in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.89.

He qualified to the district meet at Bowling Green State University on Friday, Feb. 20 in both events.

The Bulldog boys foursome also took ninth in the 400 free relay (4:03.82).

GIRLS RESULTS
Senior Lydia Demascio took seventh in the 100 backstroke (68.08), and she came in ninth in the 100 freestyle (60.93) to also make it to BG in both races.

Senior Alyssa Nau took 14th in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.52) and finished 15th in the 200 free (2:30.2).

ABOUT DISTRICT MEET
Ada district qualifiers to BG and seedings are listed below, with 32 swimmers making it in individual events, plus two alternates in case of injury or illness. 

Relays have 24 qualifying teams and two alternates. Seeding is done by times.

Szippl is seeded ninth in the 100 backstroke and 12th in the 100 freestyle.

Demascio is seeded 28th in the 100 freestyle and 18th in the 100 backstroke.

The Ada boys 400 free relay team is the second alternate squad behind Willard.
