Bulldog baseball falls to Allen East

HARROD__The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 13-3 to backyard non-conference rival Allen East on Thursday, April 23.
AE jumped ahead with five runs in the first, then added four in the second to lead 9-0.
Three more runs in the third stretched the margin to 12-0. Ada scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
The Mustangs tacked on one run in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.
Ada dropped to 6-7 overall with the road defeat. Allen East improved to 11-3 after the home win.
The Bulldogs were out-hit 8-5 by AE. Ada committed four errors, while the Mustangs were guilty of no miscues.
Thad Smith hit two singles and scored a run. Mason Wibley singled, walked twice and scored once.
Catcher Robert Shanks walked once and drove in two runs. Center fielder Jacob Szippl singled. Shortstop Andrew Allen walked and scored a run.
Brody Rister pitched two innings and allowed four hits and three earned runs. He walked two and struck out two.
Wibley hurled a scoreless inning of relief and struck out two.
Mustang Caleb Lybarger pitched four innings of one-hit shutout baseball to earn the win. He struck out seven and walked four.
Travis Stanley singled twice and had one RBI. Jackson Thompson tripled, walked, drove in two runs and scored two.
Ethan Hershberger legged out a triple, drew two walks, scored runs and stole two bases. Cam Cosart singled twice and had one RBI.
Ada left six runners on base, while AE stranded eight baserunners.
The Bulldogs play at county rival Ridgemont on Saturday, April 25.
