Bulldog softball win vs. Leipsic

LEIPSIC__The visiting Ada High School softball team run-ruled Leipsic 14-0 in a Blanchard Valley Conference mismatch on Monday, April 20.
The Bulldogs jumped ahead 5-0 after the first inning, then put the game out of reach with a seven-run second frame. Ada tacked on two more runs in the third inning.
The Bulldogs out-hit Leipsic, 12-2.
Ada improved to 13-2 overall and 3-2 in the BVC with the lopsided road win. The Bulldogs are 4-1 in away games and 9-1 at home.
Leipsic fell to 2-8 overall and 2-3 in BVC play with the defeat.
“Maycie Dewese had a good night pitching and hitting,” said Bulldog head coach Jeff Bassitt. “It was nice to see everyone get in the game, and to see several girls get hits.”
Ada freshman Maycie Dewese pitched three innings of shutout ball as the starter to earn the win. She allowed one hit and two walks while striking out two.
Dewese knocked in two runs with a hit to highlight the first inning.
Freshman Aubry Jordan hurled two innings of scoreless relief. She struck out five and walked one, and also singled home a run in the first frame.
Ada freshman Shay Smith walked and scored in the opening inning.
Reese Jordan doubled in a run to ignite the seven-run second inning outburst. Smith knocked her in with a single.
Aubry Jordan then doubled in a run, while another came home on an error. Sophomore shortstop Emily Shanks ripped a two-run triple. Sophie Fleming followed with a single to plate Shanks.
In the third inning, Dewese swatted an RBI double and Dailah Preston delivered a run-scoring single to close out the scoring.
Dewese drove in three runs on a double and a single, and scored two runs.
Sophie Fleming singled twice and scored a pair of runs. Aubry Jordan hit a double, singled, scored twice and drove in two. Reese Jordan slugged an RBI double.
Summer Wibley singled and scored two runs. Preston smacked an RBI single. Shanks tripled in a run and scored one. Smith singled for one RBI and scored a run.
The Bulldogs have outscored their opposition 185-37 over 15 games, a 12.3-2.5 runs average margin per game.
The Ada girls play at Van Buren (5-7, 3-0 BVC) on Wednesday, April 22. The Bulldogs visit struggling backyard rival Allen East (1-9) on Thursday.
Ada then returns home to host MAC foe St. Henry (3-10) on Friday, April 24.
