Micro surfacing is a maintenance practice used to slow down road wear, protect the surface from air and weather damage, fill small ruts and cracks, keep water out, and improve traction. A thin layer of pavement, about 1/4 – 3/8 inches thick, composed of polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, will be placed over the current pavement.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental law for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2020, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
