Hickman wins 2 races

ADA __The Ada High School track and field teams hosted the annual Ada Invitational meet on a sunny Saturday, May 9 at War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldogs boys finished eighth out of 15 teams, while the Ada girls came in ninth amid a 17-team field.

Arlington won the boys team title with 103 points, followed by Allen East (92) and Bluffton (84). The Ada boys tallied 34 points to edge out Fostoria and Spencerville (33), who tied for ninth, by a point.

The six-team Hardin County meet was also held concurrently at Ada after being rained out on Tuesday, May 5.

Riverdale and Kenton tied for first at 48 points in the county invite portion of the meet. Ada was third and Hardin Northern tallied 11.

Bluffton won the Ada Invite girls team crown with 124.08 points. Spencerville was a distant second at 75. The Ada girls tallied 31 points.

Riverdale captured the girls county team meet with 74.83 points. Kenton was second with 58 points, followed by Ada. The Ridgemont girls tallied 22 points to come in fourth, while HN scored 12 and USV was last with one point.

BOYS RESULTS
Ada senior Kayleb Hickman sped to victory in the 200-metetr dash in 22.66. Hickman also captured first in the 400 meters with a time of 51.06. 

Hickman also took fifth in the 100 meters (11.73).

Sophomore Will Mosler finished fourth in the 400 meters (53.36).

Sophomore Elijah Craig took eighth in the 300 hurdles (47.58). Senior Braden Smith came in eighth in the pole vault (11-0).

GIRLS RESULTS

Bulldog senior Jordyn Smith came in second in the long jump with a best leap of 16-2.75. Sophomore teammate Rose Baxter ended up sixth (14-7.25).

Ada senior Anna Conley captured fifth in the high jump (4-8), just ahead of freshman teammate Piper Wallace (4-6) in sixth.

Baxter took seventh in the 400 meters (63.43).

Freshman Ambriel Hollon ended up eighth in the 300 hurdles (53.52).

The girls 4x100 relay quartet of Kyla Coleman, Charliegh Entinghe, Baxter and Smith came in fourth (52.88).

The same foursome took sixth in the 4x200 relay (1:53.17).
