Bulldog baseball loss in resumed game vs. Van Buren

VAN BUREN – The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 4-2 to Blanchard Valley Conference rival Van Buren in a resumed game on Saturday, May 2.
The contest was suspended from April 22.
The Bulldogs plated two runs in the top of the second inning, but VB matched it with two scores in the home half of the second.
The Black Knights tallied single runs in the fourth and fifth frames and held Ada scoreless over the final five innings to win.
Ada dropped to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in the BVC after the defeat.
VB improved to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in BVC play with the win.
The Bulldogs were out-hit, 7-6. Neither team committed an error.
Will Rampe doubled home a run for VB and stole a base. Finn Martin and Blake Stutzman each singled and scored a run, and had a steal apiece.
Carson Cripple delivered a two-run single in the second inning for the Knights. He also stole two of the six bases VB swiped. Caleb Mason singled. Jacob Harrington hit a single and scored one run.
Knight Brayden Gillis pitched two hitless innings in relief to earn a save. He struck out two and walked one.
The Bulldogs host league foe Pandora-Gilboa (4-9, 2-4 BVC) on Monday, May 4.
