Hardin County Master Gardener Summer Program Series

From Hardin County Ohio State University Extension; three summer gardening workshops

MEDIA RELEASE_The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program in Hardin County has planned three educational workshops throughout the summer.

The first workshop will be held on June 16, which will be all about oak trees and celebrating the 250 birthday celebration of the United States of America. There will be a dedication of the oak trees planted in the garden and talks by the Division of Forestry and the Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Refreshments will also be provided.

The second workshop will be held on July 21 and will feature educational presentations on native plants. Participants will learn what native plants are, why they are important, why they should be planted, and how to incorporate them into their own landscapes.

The final workshop in the series will be held on August 18 and will focus on companion planting, which is a practice of planting various plants together that mutually benefit each other.

These events are free and open to anyone with an interest in learning more about these topics. Questions about the programs can be directed to the Ohio State University Extension office in Hardin County at 419-767-6041 or [email protected].
