Harold Duane Barker served in the U.S. Army
Harold Duane. Barker, age 96, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Glenn Park of Defiance.
Harold was born on November 11, 1929 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Roy and Dessie (Nuzem) Barker. On July 27, 1963 Harold married Nancy (Dunbar) Barker and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2018.
Harold is survived by his children: Jim (Julie) Barker of Bellaire, TX and Linda (Mike) Meyer of Defiance, Ohio; three grandchildren Austin Meyer, Tyler Meyer and Allie Barker; and a sister, Wanda Taffin.
Harold retired from the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, where he worked as an account manager. He had his own machine shop in Ada. He attended the Ada First United Methodist Church and the Alger Methodist Church. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed history. He loved books and reading. Harold also enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Graveside Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with Pastor Don Clinger officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810.
