Back to School Spirit Wear program announced for eligible famililes
Hardin County families may apply for student clothing pack
MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Department of Job and Family Services announced today they will be launching a countywide Back to School Spirit Wear program for eligible Hardin County families beginning Tuesday, July 14th.
To be eligible, families must reside in Hardin County, have children enrolled in grades K-12 and be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. For a family of four, that’s $66,000 a year.
Families or children who are determined to be eligible for the program will receive a School Spirit Wear Pack, which includes the following: t-shirt, long-sleeve t-shirt, sweatpants, hoody, sweatshirt, jacket, and shorts with their school logo. If your child is homeschooled or attends Hardin Community School, you have the option to receive the Spirit Wear Pack with no logo.
Applications can be picked up Tuesday, July 14th through Thursday, July 30th, at Hardin County Job and Family Services, 175 W. Franklin St., Suite 150, Kenton. The application will come with an instruction sheet, the order form for the clothing and a checklist. The application must be returned with all items on the checklist and the clothing order form to be a valid application. Applications and all required documents will need to be returned July 14th – 30th by 4:30pm.
Applicants will receive a letter in the mail notifying them if they are approved or denied. Those approved for the program will receive instructions on how and when to pick up Spirit Wear Packs. Funding is limited, so please return your completed application as soon as possible.
