HSWC Conservation Contest for ages 8-19

MEDIA RELEASE__This year’s Conservation Contest registration is now open for ages 8-19 that are in 4-H or FFA with a limit of one entry per participant.
The contest will be held on September 8 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds Community Building. Check in will be from 10:00-10:30 a.m. with the contest beginning at 10:30 a.m.
There will be special consideration for those showing livestock that day. Participants will be judged in three classes based upon age.
- Beginners, ages 8-10
- Intermediate, ages 11-13
- Advanced, ages 14-19
Contest participants will give a 4-5 minute oral presentation, not to exceed 7 minutes, about their conservation project.
The presentation should include how they collected their information, project construction, completion/results, and the knowledge they gained through the project. Neatness and organization of the visual presentation will be taken into consideration.
Please contact the Hardin Soil and Water office to sign up ahead of time or sign up the morning of the contest.
