MT. BLANCHARD__The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team lost 1-0 to Riverdale in a defensive North Central Ohio Soccer Association battle on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The game was scoreless for the first 75 minutes. Falcon Cameron Snook  scored the lone goal with about five minutes left via an assist by Osvaldo Hernandez, and the hosts held on for the win.

Ada dropped to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in NCOSA play with the defeat.

The Falcons improved to 3-4-1 overall and 1-2 in the NCOSA after the clean sheet win.

“It was a tough, competitive match that was pretty even throughout,” said Bulldog head coach Aaron Acheson. “With about five minutes remaining, they found Cam Snook in space between our center-backs, and he made a good finish.

“Soccer is a game of margins, and they capitalized on that moment,” he observed. “Unfortunately, that was the difference in the game. We have to keep learning and improving.”

Ada senior keeper Jacob Rush made 10 saves in goal.

The Bulldogs directed six shots on goal, while Riverdale put nine shots on frame.

Ada will try to snap a four-match losing skid when they play next at Old Fort (0-6) on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
