3rd-4th and 5th-6th grade Ada teams played in the October 18 Northwest Consolidated Football League Championship games at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada 3rd-4th graders competed against Hardin Northern and won 22-14.

Ada 5th-6th graders competed against Elgin 2 and won 21-18.

All of the Ada players received a championship ring, as pictured here.

Work will continue at the Wilson Sporting Goods factory on Monday, October 19, following a 7-day extension of the contract that expired on Friday.

According to Derek Gibson, president of Local 1385 of the Workers United Chicago and Midwest Joint Board, Wilson management has agreed to meet with union representatives on Wednesday, October 21.

Workers will continue to picket on lunch breaks until an agreement is reached. Sticking points in the negotiations are wages and healthcare.
