Letter: Friends of the Library president on ballot issue
By Dorothy Johnson
Dear neighbors, as President of the Friends of the Ada Public Library and a lifelong reader, I would like to encourage everyone to vote for the 5-year, 1-mil renewal levy this fall. This is NOT a new tax.
Reading, with a variety of subject options, is so important for a child's development and for the enjoyment of adults. And for those who don't take advantage of reading, there is so much more to our library. There are so many programs offered for all ages; there is sure to be one (or more) of interest to you.
If you haven't been watching the Facebook posts, please check out all the fun that was part of the summer reading program!
We have a wonderful, attentive, friendly staff who work hard to make our library an enjoyable place to visit. This is such an important part of our community and I hope it is one everyone is willing to support!
I hope you will also consider joining the Friends group. We only meet every other month and support/help with activities and projects for the library throughout the year. Come get involved!
