Letter: Think about voting for something different

My fellow Ohioans,

[November 3] is election day, and boy, is it a big one. Not only are we electing local offices like County commissioners and other more localized positions, we are electing the entire slate of statewide executive branch offices and also the House of Representatives and a good chunk of the Ohio Senate.

I know we have all been inundated with political flyers from both major federal Senate candidates or whoever else has been sending this nonsense. Most of them don’t have decent information. None of them are worth giving an actual look at, so I want to leave you with this thought.

If you have been unhappy with the way things are going in Columbus- whether it’s property tax, whether it is any other big-ticket issue, I want you to remember who has been in charge of our state government. For years, the GOP has had the governor‘s office, both houses of our legislature and the Supreme Court. It’s basically been single-party rule for a long time.

So, if you think that the party that has been in charge is going to do anything different than they’ve already done, I want you to think long and hard about it. I want you to take a real honest look at where our government is and where you think it should be.

So I urge you to think about voting for something different; you don’t need to tell anyone your ballot stays secret. No one has to know, but if you’re actually tired of the way things are going, stop voting for the same thing.
