Taxpayers in Hardin and surrounding counties can find free income tax assistance from Ohio Northern University business students through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
The VITA Program offers free tax help to persons who generally make $54,000 or less who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. As part of this program, ONU students receive training and become IRS-certified to help prepare basic and intermediate tax returns and identify special credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly.
Marc A. Hillmyer will discuss “How sustainable polymers can shape the future of plastics” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Forum of James F. Dicke Hall at Ohio Northern University. He will give a second, technical lecture, “Renewable, degradable and high-performing aliphatic polyester elastomers,” at 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 in Meyer Hall 204.
Both talks are part of the Kritzler Lectureship in Chemistry Series at ONU, and they are free and open to the public.
The Ohio Northern women's soccer program will open its 2019 campaign at the Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) Tartan Cup in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania under 16th-year head coach Mark Batman.
The Polar Bears will face off against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) on Friday, August 30 and battle tournament host Carnegie Mellon Saturday, August 31 to start the season.
