FINDLAY__The Ada High School boys golf team competed well in the 12-team Div. III sectional tournament at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay on Thursday, September 25.
The Bulldogs finished ninth with 382 strokes. Powerhouse BVC champion Van Buren easily won the sectional title at 314 strokes. New Riegel finished a distant second (338), followed by Carey (354).
Only the top three teams and three individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to the district tournament next week.
UPPER SANDUSKY__The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team scored in the final minute to defeat Upper Sandusky 2-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association thriller on Thursday, September 25.
Bulldog junior Andrew Allen tallied the game-winning goal on a Jacob Henson assist with just 53 seconds left to lift Ada to the clutch win.
Ada improved its record to 8-3-2 overall and 2-2 in NCOSA play with the league victory.
Upper Sandusky dropped to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the NCOSA after the home defeat.
UPPER SANDUSKY – The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team lost to Upper Sandusky 3-2 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match on Thursday, September 25.
The game was moved back a day from Wednesday due to unplayable field conditions at the Ram facility.
Ada fell to 9-3-2 overall and 0-3-1 in NCOSA play after the defeat.
The Ram girls improved to 6-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NCOSA standings with the victory.
US led 2-1 at halftime, and each team netted a goal in the second half.
Ada sophomores Avary Acheson and Emily Shanks scored the Bulldog goals.

The inaugural squad was a diverse group. Some were dedicated club athletes who had lobbied university leaders to elevate soccer to an official sport, while others were new to playing soccer at ONU.
