The Icon's most recent historic Ada photo showed the Ada High School football team from 1940.
Here's a leap forward 10 season to the 1950 Bulldogs. This team, playing as an independent, finished the season 6-3. The names of the players are under the photo and the season summary is below - taken from the high school yearbook.
You've seen this Ohio Northern University billboard north of Ada on State Route 235.
Now you can meet the student featured in the center of this enormous photo just outside of town. In case you missed this, the student photographed is standing in the field pointing to his picture.
Senior nursing student Jarrett Sitton walked into class one day to hear his instructor congratulate him on being famous. When he learned he was featured on a billboard just outside of Ada, Jarrett describes his reaction: “excitement wasn’t even the beginning of it.”
Right away, he called his mom to tell her the news, and of course, her first request was “send me a picture.”
Ohio Northern University's 11-acre solar field enjoys a sunny September day. The field, constructed in 2016 along Klingler Road, has 18,000 solar panels and has the ability to generate 3 megawatts of power annually.
Ada school has partnered with WOSN to livestream as many of its home athletic events as possible this season, according to Eric Perkins, Ada athletic director.
He added that the school hopes to include junior high and high school volleyball, football and soccer to this program.
A listing of games to be livestreamed will be available on the school athletics page. The school is working to find a way to broadcast games played on the road.
In order to access these games viewers will need to create an account on WOSN’s streaming website. All you need to do that is a valid email address.

ADA - The Ada volleyball team had to rally late in the third set but prevailed to sweep visiting county rival Hardin Northern Saturday afternoon.
The 25-15, 25-10, 26-24 non-league victory upped the Lady Bulldog record to 5-2. It was their third straight sweep in three home matches over five days. Ada is now 4-0 on home soil this season.
The struggling Lady Polar Bears fell to 0-5 with the defeat.
One thing is for certain about photos taken in 2020. You will always know the year of the photo. Somewhere it will include a mask or a statement about social distancing. Here's a perfect 2020 photo example of a sign on the Ohio Northern University campus.
