Season tickets are available in several Ada businesses

The Hardin County Fair opens Tuesday, Sept. 3, and continues through Sunday, Sept. 8. The fairgrounds is located at 14134 Letson Ave., Kenton.

Season tickets and membership tickets are on sale at the following Ada locations:

• 4 Seasons Drive Thru
• 302 Carryout

Season and membership tickets are $20. Season tickets admits one adult and family's children of school age and under all week. Membership tickets give admission and voting privileges.

Bulldog keeper Sidney Gossard made 14 saves

BLUFFTON - Visiting Ada lost 7-2 at local rival Bluffton in Northwest Conference girls soccer play Thursday night.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the NWC after the defeat, while Bluffton improved to 1-2-1 and 1-0 in league play with their first win.

"We played much better as a team, but were beaten by a better opponent," said Ada head coach Doug Poling. "They scored two before we were able to get anything going."

Pirate Laykin Garmatter tallied a first half hat trick to pace the victors.

Ada trailed 2-0 early before Bulldog Bella East's corner kick deflected off a Pirate defender into the net.

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team won its third straight game with a 6-1 thrashing of visiting Old Fort Thursday evening.

The Bulldog record improved to 3-2-1 with the victory. Ada has outscored its opposition 17-4 during its three-match win streak.

Jacob Poling posted his second hat trick of the season with three goals and one assist.

Nick Kamatali, Ian Dellifield and Isaac Spar each tallied one goal. Michael Crouse dished out one assist.

Grant Preston made six saves in goal.

The Bulldogs next play September 9 at NCOSA foe Upper Sandusky.

 

Between Beaverdam and Lima

Ohio Department of Transportation issued the following work projects for next week that affect local traffic patterns.

Interstate 75 between the Stewart Road overpass and Napoleon Road, between the city of Lima and the village of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane in both directions for a pavement resurfacing project.

The project also includes repairs on the ramps at the Bluelick Road interchange and on the bridges over Sugar Creek.

Lane restrictions will be in place each week from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on weekends. Work will continue through early October.

Bridge Home Health and Hospice presentations

The 31st annual “Living Through Loss” educational series will begin on Monday, Sept. 16, through Bridge Home Health and Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System. 

Presentations are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay. The topic for September will be “The Journey through Grief: What to Expect along the Way” presented by Tonya Camden, MSW, LISW-S.
