The Ada Ministerial Association (AMA) will once again host the annual Baccalaureate service for the Ada High School Class of 2019, in the English Chapel at Ohio Northern University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22.
Featured speakers are Tim Garmon and Dr. Adam Ferguson, both of whom have children graduating in this year’s class.
The theme for the service will be based on Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.”
All that reading paid off last week for Ada elementary students.
The Ada Academic Boosters reading carnival was the reward, as students earned points all year for their reading. There were games and more games as students, Kindergarten through fifth grade tried their skill at lots of activities.
The Icon shares the following series of photos during the Kindergarten carnival experience of this year's carnival.

No too many familiar last names in this Ada High School photo. Was it a football team, or another sport? There's one captain listed: Foss, number 11. (Photo from Leland Crouse)
Post script: Jon Umphress tells the Icon that number 11 Foss was his grandfather, Harold "Shorty" Foss. He played end of this football team and later worked at Cole Motors.
