Bluffton Primary Care, 161 Garau St., will host a community open house featuring Santa and Mrs. Claus on Monday, Dec. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The community is invited to visit the newly renovated office and meet the physicians and care team.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. with the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. Children who are visiting Santa and Mrs. Claus will receive a gift while supplies last.

Andre Gilbert, MD, at Blanchard Valley Urology Associates received his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from the University of Toledo in August of 2017.
Dr. Gilbert shared, “I began law school in an effort to challenge myself while learning about a new profession, but I am committed to my first calling and will continue to provide exceptional care to patients requiring urological services.”

Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a presentation that focuses on how to cope with the loss of a loved one during the holiday season on Monday, Nov. 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 South Main St., Findlay. The presentation is free, open to the public and registration is not required.
This presentation will help the bereaved navigate the holiday season while enduring the pain of losing a loved one. Theresa Scherger, MSW, LSW, social worker with Bridge Home Health & Palliative Care will be presenting, with opportunity for discussion to follow.

Birchaven Village has been named to the list of Best Nursing Homes 2017-18 by U.S. News & World Report. This is the third time Birchaven has been named to this prestigious list.
To qualify as a Best Nursing Home, facilities had to earn an average of 4.5 stars or better during 10 months of federal reports ending in August 2017 and had to consistently meet certain performance standards set by U.S. News during the period, such as earning at least four stars in the CMS overall rating for all 10 months.

Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System will open its new office, Bluffton Primary Care, 161 Garau St., on Monday, Nov. 13.
Renovations to the building are finishing this week.

Dr. Leah Eiden will be re-locating her medical practice to Bluffton from Putnam County Primary Care in Ottawa. Dr. Eiden graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Measures how well hospitals protect patients from errors, accidents, injuries and infections

Blanchard Valley Hospital was recently honored with an “A” grade in the Fall 2017 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
The Hospital Safety Score uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable harm. More than 2,600 U.S. hospitals were assigned scores in Fall 2017.
