Lincoln Highway Assn. meets in Delphos June 16

Topp Chalet, 229 W. Fifth St., Delphos, will host this month’s Lincoln Highway Association Western Ohio Chapter meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 16.

After attendees order dinner individually from the menu, a small business meeting will take place and then the group will travel to 327 S. Bredeick St. in Delphos around 7:15 p.m. to visit the former home of world renowned astronomer, Leslie Peltier.

Jack and Peggy Adams are the current owners of the home Peltier called "Brookhaven" and are in the process of updating and restoring the home to eventually turn it into a bed and breakfast.

Two fishing events at Hog Creek Game Club in June

Two fishing events are planned in June by the Hog Creek Game Club, rural Ada.

A fishing derby takes place starting at noon, Sunday, June 14. Then, on Saturday, June 20, is catfish fishing night beginning at 6 p.m.

 

 

 

Cadets' give free Ada concert on June 14

The Cadets, one of the oldest and most honored continuously operating drum and bugle corps in the country, will perform at Ohio Northern University’s Dial-Roberson Stadium on Sunday, June 14 at 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Visitors should park at Wander Field due to construction on Klingler Road.

The nationally renowned corps will present its 2015 production, “The Power of Ten.” The program includes excerpts from Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 and the movie “Mulholland Drive.”

June 27 Boots and Badges party recognizes first responder agencies

A Boots and Badges party to recognize local first responder agencies to benefit the Hardin County Red Cross is set for 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 27, at the Kenton Eagles Lodge 2163, 10750 U.S. 68, Kenton.

Tickets are $20 each. The evening includes live entertainment, food, dancing, raffles, games and the presentation of the First Responder of the Year Award.

All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross. Sponsorships are available by contacting Cheryl Wolfe at 419-310-3583.

June 11 "lunch and learn" focus on relieving summer aches and pains

Community Health Professionals will hold a "lunch and learn" from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 11, at its 1200 S. Main St. building, according to Deb Curliss.

The program title "Relieving summer aches and pains," is free and open to the public. The program is sponsored by Liberty National Bank of Ada. The program includes summer-tune up suggestions from FABrehab Services.

Participants will receive a box lunch at no cost, and donations are welcome. Donations will go to CHP hospice patience care fund.

Several sports camps and tournaments this summer at Bluffton Family Recreation

Bluffton Family Recreation announces several June and July events, according to Joseph Beagle, director. Unless otherwise listed, all events are at BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

June 5 dodge ball tournament
A one evening high school dodge ball tournament is Friday, June 5. The tournament starts at 6 p.m. Registration fee is $35 per team.

June 13 3v3 soccer tournament
A 3v3 soccer tournament is Saturday, June 13. Tournament divisions are U8-adult. Play begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $75 per team.
