Lights! Camera! Christmas!

Ada fourth and fifth grade music classes will perform "Lights! Camera! Christmas!" twice on Thursday, Dec. 4.

According to Lori Wilson director, "The kids decide it is time to make an amazing movie about the one and only Santa Claus, but what style of movie should we use?  How about an epic extravaganza like Cecil B. DeMille? Adventure film like Steven Spielberg?  A Spaghetti Western might be fun. How will we decide?"

Performances are at 1:15 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in the Ada school auditorium. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each show.

The performances are free and open to the public.

Ada Icon viewers are invited to Bluffton on Saturday to watch the 100-plus unit parade (which includes the Ada High School homecoming queen Allison Howard). The event is the 28th annual Bluffton Blaze of Lights.

Several events are planned around the parade. Here's the schedule:

David Greene of National Public Radio will have a book signing and will speak about his journey into the heart of Russia from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Jeanne’s Kitchen, 112 Vine St., Bluffton.

Greene is host of NPR’s Morning Edition and former NPR foreign correspondent based in Moscow. He is also the son-in-law of Ada residents Peter and Jeanne Previte.

Greene’s book “Midnight to Siberia,” was recently released and is on the New York Times best seller’s list. Copies of his book will be available for sale during the evening.
Greene is host of NPR's Morning Edition, with Steve Inskeep and Renee Montagne.
