Parade, pep rally, spirit week, king and queen, dance...sounds like homecoming is approaching

A parade, pep rally, spirit week, king and queen, dance…sounds like Ada High School’s homecoming is approaching. It is and the Ada High School student council sponsors this year’s event.

Homecoming is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5. Events begin next week during Spirit Week.

You'll need a personal calendar to keep track of everything going on in Ada this fall

It looks like Ada residents are in for a very interesting fall filled with many activities. While many of these events are still in the planning stages, here’s a preview of September to early December coming Ada attractions (there's lots more event not listed here, but you'll read about them soon on The Icon):

Sept. 26 – First, to conclude summer, the final Ada Farmers’ Market takes place at Community Health Professionals on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Oct. 4-5 – Ada High School homecoming. Parade prior of football game on Oct. 4. Watch the Icon for more details.

"The Butler" showing at Ada Theatre

Friday and Saturday shows are at  7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Daily shows at 7 p.m.

All tickets are $4.

Ada HS alum Kevin Plaugher will perform at Harvest and Herb Fest

Kevin Plaugher sounds a lot like James Taylor. At least that's what the Icon thinks. You can see, or hear for yourself. Plaugher, Ada High School grad, is one of the performers on the 28th annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival.

This year's event is Saturday, Sept. 21 in downtown Ada.

Plaugher returned to Ada this summer at the invitation of Fred Reichter to perform at Music on Main in July. A short video of that performance is at the bottom of this story.

Plaugher will perform from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Mike Wright and Jim Boedicker will take the stage from 2:15 to 3 p.m.

Lots of other events are planned on Saturday.
