A Michael Raines family benefit takes place from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 24, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 209 W. North St., Lima.

The event is a spaghetti dinner. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth. The benefit is hosted by Busy B Realty. A silent auction will also take place that evening.

The Ada Police Department and the Ada Kiwanis Club will hold a village bike rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 10.

The rodeo takes place in the municipal parking lot behind the police station.

There will  be door prizes, a bicycle obstacle course and refreshments for youth 3 to 12. The Ada fire and EMS will be present to allow youth to see the equipment.

Bike helmets will be given to all participants.

Several Hardin County garden organizations will be participating in the 11th Annual Hardin County Plant Sale. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 in the Arts & Crafts building at the fairgrounds. There will be browsing and coffee available from 8:30–9:00 a.m. with the actual sale running from 9:00 a.m.–noon.  Proceeds from this annual plant sale benefit the activities and programs of the various garden groups represented.

Icon viewers are invited to the ONU Observatory on Friday, May 2, for the event called "Saturn near opposition." The event, open to the public is from 9 to 11 p.m.

Saturn actually reaches opposition on May 10, but this event takes place  while the students are still on campus. During opposition, Saturn is optimally positioned for viewing: it is at its closest to the Earth and rises just as the Sun sets.

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's second annual Spring Fling takes place Saturday, May 3, and it includes lots of family-oriented activities.

The fling, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. takes place at the War Memorial Park. In the event of bad weather, it will be cancelled with no rain date.
