Brandt Miller will serve as vice-president

Ada’s Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) reorganized for 2019 on Jan. 16.

Officers elected are:
• Jamie Hall, president
• Brandt Miller, vice president
• Eileen Peterman, treasurer-secretary

In addition to its officers, other board members are Angela Polachek, Terry Keiser, Bryan Marshall, Fred Steiner, Don Traxler and Norm Rex.

The CIC had $25,665 in it savings and checking accounts. These cover general fund, business, and economics funds.

• Dave Retterer, water resource plan
• Angela Polachek, community
• Deb Curlis, commercial

Ada chamber gets update on the community center on Wednesday

“It’s a community effort,” said Robert Kanzig, director of ReStore, adding that Ada’s downtown community center offer countless services to the community.

Kanzig updated Ada Area Chamber of Commerce members on the work and mission of the Main Street store during the Jan. 16 chamber meeting at Vancrest.

He said that ReStore offer emergency food, free lunches five days a week, a free dinner on Tuesdays, euchre on Thursday, and its Beacon Fund helps families in times of extreme hardship.

Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, will have an open house and registration night on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Prospective, new, and current families are welcome to attend and tour the school. Teachers will be in their classrooms to meet with families and answer any questions.

New families are welcome to register for the 2019-2020 school year. Stop by the gymnasium for complimentary pizza, cookies, and snacks. Call 419-326-4685 for more information.

Feb. 5 at Norada Lanes

Ada Rotary Club invites organizations to enter its 5th annual Super Bowl battle of Ada organizations bowling event.

This year’s battle is dedicated to the memory of Kevin Mierzejewski, Rotary member who helped launch the annual community fundraiser.

Bowling is Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Norada Lanes. Only eight teams are admitted. Registration is $100 per team with five members on a team.

Registration includes three games of bowling, shoes, one large pizza and one pitcher of soft drinks. A 50/50 raffle takes place in addition to door prizes throughout the evening.

Proceeds benefit Ada Rotary community projects and scholarships.
